l'époque où le pacha invitait les arrivants fortunés à construire dans cette partie oubliée de la médina. Passé de main en main, c'est un architecte qui le restaure et en fait un véritable bijou, labellisé Relais &amp; Châteaux. Le résultat est exceptionnel : les 5 bâtisses de caractère s'articulent autour de patios. Deux hammams, une piscine chauffée et un excellent restaurant, le Gayza, complètent les installations. Côté décoration, on retrouve les salles élégantes ornées d'azulejos auxquelles sont venus s'adjoindre un bar central et une terrasse sur le toit, avec vue sur l'Arenal. Côté cuisine, on mise toujours sur des recettes andalouses traditionnelles comme les ragoûts (morue et pois chiches, par exemple) et les fritures (Chocos, notamment). Ficelle picarde, moules, beignets de calamars, aile de raie aux câpres, sans oublier le poisson frais qui ouvre l'appétit comme il faut. Au sein de l'hôtel Mercure, on arrive par la salle dans une ambiance jungle urbaine. Déco tropicale chic à l'intérieur, le Monkey Place a été pensé tel un cabinet de curiosités. Dressé dès l'entrée, le grand singe veille désormais sur ceux qui osent s'y aventurer pour un café à l'heure du petit déjeuner, midi et soir autour d'un plat \" cuisine du monde \" ou de mezzés, pour travailler autour d'un thé ou pour une soirée animée. À la barre, trois amis - Clément, Antoine et Paul - ont uni leurs énergies pour créer ce RistoBar. Chez eux, la cuisine italienne, largement représentée, se marie à la cuisine française dans un esprit festif. La carte resserrée mise sur le fait maison et les produits frais, locaux, avec une belle part donnée aux plats végétariens. Côté pizzas, véritables délices, coup de coeur pour la Pistachio. Le service est efficace et souriant.
